The Solar System
The solar system is like one big family spinning in space. At the center of it all is the Sun - the parent and "star" of our family. In fact, the Sun really is a star, the only one on the Solar system. Everything revolves around it. It is the most important member of the family and by far the biggest. Like any good parent, it keeps us all from flying out of control. We are held together by the Sun's enormous pull - a force called Gravity.
Even though we may say the planets "circle" the Sun, their oribits are not exactly circular. They are in the shape of ellipses instead.
