What is Impression Evidence?
Impression Evidence is evidence that has kept the characteristics of another object through direct contact. The prints that are left behind when pressure has been added to a soft material. For example: the ground might be muddy and you ride your bike through it, because the mud is wet and you have put weight on your bike, the impression from your tire would be left behind.
Impressions are created when one object is pressed against another material with enough force to leave an impression of the object.
Impressions can be found on many different things. How well the impression is visible depends on the object making the impression and the surface conditions, such as how hard or soft it is and what type of material it is (soil, mud, dust, concrete, grass, skin, etc.)
